Symmetric Orthogonal Polynomials and the Associated Orthogonal L-polynomials

We show how symmetric orthogonal polynomials can be linked to polynomials associated with certain orthogonal L-polynomials. We provide some examples to illustrate the results obtained. Finally as an application, we derive information regarding the orthogonal polynomials associated with the weight function (1 + kx2)(l x2)~1/2, k>0.

Dunkl - Semiclassical Orthogonal Polynomials . the Symmetric Case

where A and B are fixed polynomials with degA ≤ 2, and degB = 1. In 1939, Shohat extended these ideas introducing a new class of orthogonal polynomials. In fact, he studied orthogonal polynomials associated with forms satisfying the last equation, with no restrictions in the degrees of the polynomials A, and B. Obviously, orthogonal polynomials defined as above, generalize in a natural way the ...

Orthogonal Symmetric Polynomials Associated with the Calogero Model

Abstract. The Calogero model is a one-dimensional quantum integrable system with inverse-square long-range interactions confined in an external harmonic well. It shares the same algebraic structure with the Sutherland model, which is also a one-dimensional quantum integrable system with inverse-sine-square interactions. Inspired by the Rodrigues formula for the Jack polynomials, which form the ...

Tur/.n Inequalities for Symmetric Orthogonal Polynomials

A method is outlined to express a Tur,n determinant of solutions of a three term recurrence relation as a weighted sum of squares. This method is shown to imply the positivity of Tur determinants of symmetric Pollaczek polynomials, Lommel polynomials and q-Bessel functions.

Orthogonal Polynomials

The theory of orthogonal polynomials plays an important role in many branches of mathematics, such as approximation theory (best approximation, interpolation, quadrature), special functions, continued fractions, differential and integral equations. The notion of orthogonality originated from the theory of continued fractions, but later became an independent (and possibly more important) discipl...
